Windows goes open source?

Saturday, July 30th, 2005

Will it ever happen? the new up coming windows vista, which was called langhorn by developers, is not gonna be a breaking news at all… it’s not gonna be better than the previous ones… so maybe they should give it up, give it the world and letting independent developers (which are possibly better - not working under presure) help them?

The war between microsoft as a non open source OS and linux as a open source OS still continue as it’s written on BBC: The problem is GNU/Linux, a beast they cannot destroy and cannot seem to tame, a beast that is encroaching on their markets by offering an alternative to the closed development and licensed software model that has made Microsoft rich…

MSN deletes Apple Head Quarter

Friday, July 29th, 2005

Read an article somewhere couple days ago about online map - unfortunatly, can’t find it back (no references, sorry)…
For those who don’t know yet about google map, try it out… pretty cool… you can trace down someone else residence, hunt down where ever he/she is and get the satelite’s shot of the area and if you lucky enough it’s close enough to see the building… simillar thing is developed by MSN, only that their map doesn’t show the head quarter of apple in europe… software failure? exactly on their biggest business competitor?… funny, isn’t it?
As matter of fact, there is an explanation on this, but i leave you guys to find out… good luck!!

The most popular book of the year the “Da Vinci Code” is on the hand of hollywood. The film will be out next year with Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon (the main character) and Ian McKellen (Gandalf in LOTR) as Sir Leigh Teabing, the possessed knight from the legendary holly grail. I read the book ages ago and since then i have all Dan Brown books… sounds sad, but it’s entertaining…

Webblog, RSS and the future

Wednesday, July 20th, 2005

Just read on slashdot an article saying that "The future of RSS is not blogs" … surprise surprise… cos according to wikipedia the latest headlines, with hyperlinks and summaries, are frequently offered in weblogs in the RSS… however i agree that blog is not the purpose of RSS, knowing that RSS can do more than share the latest entries’ headlines but also a corporate communication channel that might be useful for some business…
