how Indonesian’s government tries to rule nudity by preventing
womanfolk from wearing a certain outfit and would actually punish them
by put them in jail or put charge of an imposible amount of money, i
would like to introduce Playboy Indonesia….

Binary clock

July 23rd, 2006 by kartikamaramis

Bclock As stupid as it is, it is still something i need to post. Yeah who would bother to watch binary clock? it took me quite sometime to figure out the real time. I found this on google personalised start site and found it interesting.

So this is how you look at it. The last 2 columns are second, the next 2 are minutes and the last 2 are hour. Second column is switching oftenly up-down, 1-0. The right side of second column goes from 0-9 in binary and the left side goes from 0-6 in binary. In other word, as soon as the right side of second column reaches 9 in binary, the left side adds its current number in binary or goes back to 0. The same concept applies on the minute and hour, which are respectively dependent on second and minute.

On this case the time above shows: 16:13:05.

Friendster awarded patent on social networking

Friendsterlogo_1

Yep, how nice. Congratulation Friendster.com. I am proud of it. Being a newbie programmer, i’ve been wondering how creative friendster has been. Not only design-wise, but to me technology-wise is more interesting. On this site, i’ve been blogging the world for the last year. Frienster that originaly a community website has the blog feature existed not too long ago (considered the existency of web 2.0). The full article can be read in techcrunch.com

My new blog

July 2nd, 2006 by kartikamaramis

I got bored last night, so i messed around with flock and decided to make use of it. I opened new account in blogger.com to post my articles and soon will not use blogs.friendster.com. I don’t like the banner they put on top of the site plus blogger.com gives more flexibility to personalize your blog.

With flock web browser (read my recent post about  flock) it’s possible to blog the world through it, instead of sign in firstly to the website. This gives advantage to write your blog offline (i have flatrate, so i don’t really need it) and keep your post on your pc before you certain on publishing it.

So guys come and visit me sometimes in http://www.slowforward-log.blogspot.com. Not so much to read so far, but hopefully soon.

Live telnet ASCII WorldCup

June 17th, 2006 by kartikamaramis

Do you know that you can watch world cup in matrix style? Not quite like in matrix, where the characters fall from top to buttom, this one goes from rigth to left and it’s in ASCII code. If you open your konsole or in windows start -> run: type “cmd” copy and paste this: “telnet diego.ascii-wm.net 2006″ in the konsole and press enter (return), you can watch live game from Germany.

It’s commentated as “the best, most ridiculous, most redundant graphical implementation of ASCII!”

Birthdays party

May 6th, 2006 by kartikamaramis

I want to thanks you all for coming to mine and Oscar’s birthdays party. It was really great to have you all there. You guys did make the party a lot of fun. However, i want to apology to you, if i was being ignorant. After the party was over, i wondered the whole time, what i’ve done. Cos i didn’t feel like having a long conversation to any of my guests. I guess being the host as well as the central of the party had taken all my attentions away from you all. Please enjoy the pictures on this blog.

Brief explanation for those who wonder: My b’day is a day later than Oscar’s, so we decided to celebrate it at my apartment together. Meanwhile, Oscar who turned 30 and it’s kinda must in Germany to celebrate 30 years old, was being fooled. His friends prepared some games for him and he just have to play along. It’s fun to watch, but there are some points that some of us thinks it’s over the limit. However, we all survived the party and ever since then i have to admit that i became a happier person :-))

Geek joke

April 21st, 2006 by kartikamaramis

Dear Microsoft Technical Support,

I am desperate for some help. I recently upgraded
from Girlfriend 7.0 to
Wife 1.0 and found that the new program began
giving unexpected errors and
also took up a lot of space and valuable resources.
This wasn’t mentioned
in the product brochure. In addition Wife 1.0
installs itself into all
other programs and launches during system
initialization where it monitors
all other system activity.

Applications such as Boys Night Out 2.5, Rugby
4.0, Golf 9.0 and Cricket
5.3 no longer run and crash the system whenever
selected. Attempting to
operate Saturday Sports Bar 6.3 always fails but
Saturday Shopping 7.1
runs instead. I cannot seem to keep Wife 1.0 in
the background while
attempting to run any of my favourite applications. I
am thinking about
going back to Girlfriend 7.0 but uninstall doesn’t
work on this program.

With regards,

Desperate Joe

THE REPLY FROM MICROSOFT:
———————————-
Dear Desperate,

This is a very common problem resulting from a
basic misunderstanding.
Many men upgrade from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0
thinking that Wife 1.0 is
merely a UTILITIES & ENTERTAINMENT program.
Whereas Wife 1.0 is an
OPERATING SYSTEM designed by its creator to
run everything.

You are unlikely to be able to purge Wife 1.0 and
still convert back to
Girlfriend 7.0 as Wife 1.0 is not designed to do this
and it is impossible
to uninstall, delete or purge the program files from
the system once
installed.

Some people have tried to install Girlfriend 8.0 or
Wife 2.0 but have
ended up with even more problems (See in manual
under alimony support and
Solicitors fees).

Having Wife 1.0 installed myself, I recommend
you keep it installed and
deal with the difficulties as best as you can. When
any faults or problems
occur, whatever you think has caused them, you
must run the C:\ I
APOLOGISE program and avoid attempting to use
the * Esc-key.

It may be necessary to run C:\ I APOLOGISE a
number of times but hopefully
eventually the operating system will return to
normal.

Wife 1.0 although a very high maintenance
program can be very rewarding.
To get the most out of it consider buying additional
software such as
Flowers 2.0, Chocolates 5.0 and the most effective
Diamonds 9.0. DO NOT
under any circumstances install Secretary
36.24.36 (Short skirt version)
as this is not a supported application for Wife 1.0
and the system will
almost certainly crash.

And very importantly, if you are in the Asian zone,
in no case try to
install the FREE software (Mother-in-law 1.0) that
comes with Wife 1.0
operating system. Installing the software would
lead to more system
errors, like sudden virus attacks (Headache 2.5)
and Not Responding
messages from Wife 1.0 operating system.

Thank you for using the program!!!

With Regards,
Microsoft technical support.

Optimize your Firefox

April 20th, 2006 by kartikamaramis

Found this very nice tips and trick to load websites faster in mozilla-firefox, however pardon me if it doesn’t work in windows. Have fun trying it.

Type on the the address bar:

about:config

Then in the filter bar type:

network.dns.disableIPv6 (change to true)
network.http.pipelining (change to true)
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests (change to 8)
network.http.proxy.pipelining (change to true)
